Andrew is often described by his patients and colleagues as passionate, knowledgeable and friendly. He is passionate about sport and fitness with an expertise in track and field and thus has a particular interest in orthopaedic and sports therapy whether it be preventative, rehabilitative or continuing care. He believes in the importance of a patient-therapist team approach to identify patient goals and barriers in order to create effective physiotherapy programs. Andrew’s practice includes a combination of education, electro-physical modalities, hands on manual physical therapy techniques, and most importantly functional exercise. Andrew is dedicated to continuing education and advancing his skills. He has completed courses in dry needling, neuro-proprioceptive taping and pursued a Diploma of Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
Andrew obtained his Master of Science degree in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University. Some key achievements during his tenure at Dalhousie that separate him from his peers include; being invited to practice at the Institute of Neurological Science in Scotland, serving as the student president and graduating at the top of his class in integrative practice. Prior to this, he completed a Master of Science in Experimental Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from McGill University.
While at McGill University, Andrew competed as a varsity track and field athlete in long jump and sprints, achieving nationals twice and representing Nova Scotia at the 2009 Canada Games. He successfully overcame multiple injuries during this time which he attributes to his physiotherapy team. This experience has given him a valuable patient perspective which he brings to his practice. He also has excellent experience treating athletes from his time working with the Mount Saint Vincent University Mens/Womens Soccer Teams.
Today, Andrew no longer competes but he continues to stay active. His hobbies include playing squash, tennis and basketball and the is always open to trying new activities. Recently, he has taken up long distance running and golf. Andrew looks forward to working with you to achieve your goals!
Andrew is an exceptionally skilled and caring physiotherapist with a focus on providing his patients with the knowledge and skills needed to achieve their goals. He graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Science in Physiology (2012) and a Masters of Science in Experimental Medicine (2015). He then went on to receive a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University (2018), where he graduated at the top of his class. During his time at Dalhousie, he had the opportunity to practice at the Institute of Neurological Science in Scotland.
Andrew believes in lifelong learning and continues to expand his knowledge and skills through post graduate courses and self-directed learning. He has a passion for vestibular/concussion therapy, treating everything from neck pain and headaches to feelings of unsteadiness or dizziness including vertigo, disequilibrium, or faintness. He has also taken courses in dry needling, neuro-proprioceptive taping, and advanced manual therapy techniques. He has completed a Diploma of Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT).
Running, sprinting and jumping is a passion of Andrew’s and he was formerly a nationally competing sprinter/long jumper who competed at the Canada Games for Nova Scotia. He also has experience treating a wide variety of athletes including novice and competitive long-distance runners. Andrew no longer competes, but he continues to have a passion for fitness and in his free time enjoys long distance running and strength training.
